It has been a rough couple of months for many people around the world. We were barely into the month of July when I already felt that we needed a month to focus our yoga practice on tending to our minds.
Then Adriene sent out her weekly letter on July 13 encouraging us to tend to our mental health with self care and self love. And I knew we had to have a month to focus on caring for our mental health through our practice. It was from that that August's FWFG yoga calendar was born.
I felt that this might be a good time to go a little deeper into our yoga practice by incorporating a book that focuses on the power of our thoughts and words. I ran a few book suggestions by Adriene and she felt that "The Four Agreements" was a perfect starting place for aligning our practice with studying our thoughts and words.
I know some of you have already read "The Four Agreements" but I encourage you to reread it. This is a book worth reading again. You may notice things that missed before. And it is never a bad thing to be reminded of the four agreements.

From Adriene’s letter (7/13/16): “This year we kicked 2016 off with Yoga Camp which reminded us to check out self talk and to implement a conscious daily practice that wasn’t just good for physique but for the mind as well. I figured half way through the year here we could all stand to reconnect with just that. Mental health to join or re-join your squad goals. That is total self care - self love.
